The Sunflower
The sunflower swaying in the wind
Faces the sun as it blooms everlastingly
I raise both of my hands to that blue sky
Even if I'm hit by the rain, Without wiping away the flowing tears
On that far side of sadness, I believe in the future
With an old bike
To a landmark tower
I lead you closer to summer
Along the way on this slow hill road
The yellow fireworks can be seen
Over the sprawling vast land
I can't hear a thing,
If I'm alive various things will happen
Like the unpleasantness and pain
During those times,
I, from this knoll
Am gazing by myself
Where is the sunflower inside of you?
If there a dream you were aiming for,
It's something you should remember
In times when the clouds cover overhead,
I never gave up
The sought-after rays of sun
Will one day reach you
Along the guardrail we rest our hips
Before long, the setting sun makes shadows
The electric lines swayed
And were crying weakly
The yellow hope nevertheless rises
I can't do anything
I can only think about this scenery
Despite things like sadness, loneliness, and being depressed,
You, as your own self, look up to the sky
In order for you to be you, I'll be waiting until you stand up
Even in the far side of the starry sky
Surely the sun is waiting
Within your chest is a blooming sunflower
Close your eyes and remember
One day you'll sow those seeds

Microbial Communities in the Petroleum Hydrocarbon-Contaminated Soil
Abstract
Contamination of soil by petroleum hydrocarbon compounds could
affect microbial communities due to its toxicity and impact to soil fertility.
The purpose of this research is to study microbial communities in soil
contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbon compounds. This research was conducted by
taking crude-contaminated soil sample from the areas planted with Acacia sp.,
H. brasiliensis, and S. mahagoni. Microbes were isolated from the soil and
purified by using SMSS media added with the used-oil with concentration of 2%
and 4% to study the effect of the used-oil to microbial communities. The
results of microscopical identification show that in Acacia sp. soil was
found 1 species (A. sclerotiorum), H. brasiliensis found 2
species (A. niger dan Penicillium sp.), and S. mahagoni found
3 species (A. niger, Penicillium sp. dan A. fumigatus). All of the isolates can use
the used-oil at concentration of 2% as carbon source. At concentration of 4%,
only A. niger could grow well. According to the results petroleum hydrocarbon
compounds affect microbial communities but the communities were not affected by
the kind of plants grown on in the contaminated soil.

KOMUNITAS MIKROBIA PADA LAHAN TERCEMAR MINYAK BUMI
Intisari
Tanah yang tercemar senyawa petroleum hidrokarbon dapat
mempengaruhi komunitas mikrobia karena bersifat toksik dan berdampak pada
kesuburan tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari komunitas mikrobia pada tanah
yang tercemar senyawa petroleum hidrokarbon. Penelitian dilakukan dengan
mengambil sampel tanah yang tercemar crude oil, tetapi telah ditumbuhi
tanaman Acacia sp., H.
brasiliensis, dan S. mahagoni. mikrobia
diisolasi dari tanah tersebut dan dipurifikasi dengan media SMSS ditambah oli
bekas dengan dua konsentrasi 2% dan 4% untuk mempelajari efek oli bekas
terhadap komunitas mikrobia. Hasil identifikasi secara mikroskopis menunjukkan
bahwa pada tanah yang ditumbuhi Acacia sp. ditemukan 1 spesies (A.
sclerotiorum), H. brasiliensis ditemukan 2 spesies (A. niger dan
Penicillium sp.), dan S. mahagoni ditemukan 3 spesies (A.
niger, Penicillium sp. dan A.
fumigatus). Seluruh isolat mampu menggunakan oli bekas pada konsentrasi 2%
sebagai sumber karbon. Sedangkan pada konsentrasi 4% A. niger saja yang
tumbuh. Berdasarkan hal tersebut petroleum hidrokarbon mempengaruhi komunitas
mikrobia tanah, tetapi komunitas mikrobia tidak dipengaruhi oleh jenis tumbuhan
pada lahan tercemar minyak
